Shift Change Using Control Values

How to take possession of a controlled substance inventory that have control values (barcodes and/or unique numbers) assigned to each vial.

*If your agency utilizes Box Seals or does not utilize control values, see this article

 

This workflow demonstrates when your agency is using control values

1) Select "shift change" from the home screen and select inventory

  • Be sure to click on "Allow" to give the app access to your smart phone's camera if you will be scanning your control values.

2) Scan or select the control values present in your inventory, then click "next"

  • If your control values do not have scannable barcodes, you can manually select them by tapping or clicking on each one. 
  • The control values will turn green as they are successfully scanned or selected.

 

3) Verify With Signatures

  • Signatures are provided by both the oncoming and off going paramedics via PIN entry (or manual signature if configured).
  • Once the shift change is successful, the oncoming crew will be able to view the "Drugs on Hand" for that inventory at the main menu. 

 

Utilizing the Out of Service feature:

Off Going Crew: 

1) Click on the "out of service" tab as seen above. 
2) Select an out of service location from the provided list of options. 
3) Provide off going signature

Oncoming Crew: 

Only requires an oncoming signature (will show off going as "out of service")
