Documenting a Medication Use
General Med Use
1) Click on "Med Use" from the Drugs on Hand menu & select a product
2) Enter Amounts
- # of vials used
- Dosage of medication administered + wasted
- Run # (optional)
- Your agency may require you to enter the run number for the call you administered the medication. Please refer to your agency's SOP on whether or not this is needed.

3) Verify with signatures
- PIN will be entered by the administering paramedic and the witness
- Depending on agency configuration, a manual signature may be used for the witness (i.e. your agency allows non-agency personnel to witness waste)
Using Control Values
If your agency uses control values, you will follow the same steps as above with a couple key differences:
- You will either scan or type in the control value of the administered medication instead of manually selecting a product in Step 1.
- If using multiple vials in an administration, a separate med use will need to be completed for each vial used since control values are unique to each medication.

- Tip: If you are entering in your control value manually, you can tap on the keyboard icon next to the search bar to switch between the numerical keypad and a full keyboard.
